This Affordable Lace Ball Gown Wowed at My Lakeside Wedding

I’m not really one to leave long reviews, but I’ve had a few friends asking about my wedding dress, and I figured I’d just write it all down while it’s still fresh. I got married by a lake a couple of weeks ago, and honestly? The dress ended up being one of my favorite parts of the day—but not without a little drama, which I’ll get to.

I actually ordered three dresses online before this one. I know, sounds excessive, but I was paranoid about ordering something without trying it on, so I just wanted to compare. She fixed it fine, but I was panicking. So if you buy this, please schedule your hemming way earlier than I did. Don’t be me. Once it was cut to my height, the skirt swept the ground perfectly. I also added a hoop skirt underneath for extra volume, and that really made the tulle float around me in photos. Totally worth it.

What surprised me most was how comfortable I felt all day. I did sunrise photos, walked around the lake, posed for golden hour shots, danced with guests—and I never felt weighed down or itchy. The lace is crocheted but soft, not scratchy. The tulle is light.

I honestly forgot I was wearing a big gown half the time. People kept coming up to me—friends, family, even the venue staff—saying how pretty it looked. My aunt actually cried, but that might have been the champagne.

And I know everyone asks about price, so I’ll just say this: I paid way less than what you’d expect for this quality. When people asked what boutique I went to, they were shocked I bought it online. No markup, no salon pressure. That part felt pretty good.

So yeah, if you want that big romantic look, need something forgiving up top and around the middle, and don’t want to spend a fortune, this dress is legit. Just remember to get it hemmed early and maybe pick up a hoop skirt for the full effect. And then just enjoy feeling like a princess—or whatever you want to call it. It worked for me.
