Deciding your prom dress is very difficult especially when you have numbers of options in front of you. You can choose any kind of style dress you want including, mermaid, sheath, ruffles etc. but at the end all talk come to what color you would wear on your prom.

First of all, you must wear whatever color you think would most likely suits you. Don’t let anyone tells you that this specific color would not suits you. It is a fact that some color are difficult to pull off than the others. But once you think it is your favorite color go for it; without thinking what is the other people thinking of it.

There is a fun fact about colors. Colors depict emotions e.g. red is the color of desire and excitement and blue is the color of calmness. These emotions are also sometimes refers to as temperatures of different colors. These colors are normally called as warm and cool colors. Warm colors include yellow, red, bright orange etc. which depict light and sun warmth. Contrary to that cool colors include light blue, green and purple that promotes calmness and serenity for the viewers.

There is another way to put different range of colors into perspective is analogous and complementary colors. Analogous colors are placed next to one another in the color wheel. The color combination of these colors is easy and looks appealing to the eyes. On the contrary, complementary colors are placed opposite in the color wheel. The combination of such colors is difficult and sometime chaotic. The best combination is that which has the perfect balance between cool and warm colors.

Get to know Your Pigment and Undertone

To get to know whether warm or cool colors would suit you, you must need to know the base pigment of your skin. Try pinching your back hand and if you see pink, peach, rosy, yellow or green color that would be your base pigment. These base pigment colors would not suit your skin if you wear it. Now let us just talk about your undertone. If your veins in your wrist appear to be blue, you would have cool undertone and if they appears to be green you would have warm undertone. You must not wear the dress of same base pigment as it would not suit you rather try to go for the colors according to your undertone.
